Sympathy Cards for Kids
It’s important for us - young and old alike - to have our losses acknowledged. Receiving such acknowledgment from family and friends offers us an early step in the right direction for healing our grief.
Unfortunately, our children most often find themselves and their losses only briefly acknowledged on the envelopes of sympathy cards sent to their adult family members. This typical nod to a child - the 'and family' - rarely filters down to them. Sadly, this time-honored early expression of a community's caring, the sending and receiving of sympathy cards, is not yet inclusive of our young people.
Sisters Susan Heller and Leah Hawley, through Sib’s Creations’ grief acknowledged line, are now actively working to change this important oversight. Sympathy cards, designed specifically for offering love and support to children who have found their young lives touched by loss through the death of someone that they love, have just been released and are available in selected card and gift shops, as well as by immediate on-line order below.
These artfully designed and hand created cards are age-specific in both their art work and their sentiments. The children who are sent these cards, because they are specifically designed for them, can now find their losses directly addressed and acknowledged in ways they can understand.

These layered, hand-assembled black-and-white cards, printed on a rich, grey stock and individually packaged with their own matching envelopes, are guaranteed to help the bewildered, uncomfortable young mourner to feel more a comfortable as part of the process simply because of the sure knowledge that someone else sees, someone else cares.
Tiny metallic appliqués in the upper corners of each hand-drawn illustration add to the personalization of the message and say how intimately concerned the sender is about the welfare of the young recipient.
